![]() My honest guess is that she probably spotted Gren in the ranks, maybe early on in his career as an officer in their army (whomever they represent via Kingdom) and saw in him a lot of herself and possibly that Amaya liked him as a person. Sarai would have needed someone who was also calm and gentle and kind and loyal to work with Amaya. She was someone who, while a warrior, was also someone who was kind and compassionate and merciful. Amaya is very much a Knock down the door ask questions later, type of person, and I think that Sarai tempered her in that sense. So it’s probably that factor that caught Sarai’s attention. We can see that Amaya is the warrior of these two, and I have a feeling that Gren probably wasn’t a strong battle officer, seeing as we didn’t see him fight off his captors when they took him in.Īnother important aspect is that his character has no sword nor weapon, telling me that he’s more of a voice for Amaya and probably helps her with diplomacy than with actual battle. Due to the fact that she was going to be Queen, I think Sarai realized that she couldn’t stay by her sister’s side and needed to find a suitable replacement that could get Amaya’s personality and understand her just as clearly as she could.Įnter Gren. However I think that probably changed around the time that Callum’s father died and Sarai met Harrow. So if we go by that thought, it’s easy to see Sarai staying close to her sister for a while even after giving birth to her eldest son and probably still being her voice. While Ezren dresses in red like his father, and wears the family crest/seal/whatever the thing is on his belt which I think are ruins, Callum only wear’s red on the scarf he has and clearly his outfit is less expensive looking that Ezren’s. Now the thing is that I assume Callum’s father wasn’t someone who was a noble due to the way Callum views things. It is not that hard to assume then that when they were growing up Sarai was Amaya’s voice, someone who could express what her sister was feeling to others and probably played an important role in helping her grow as a person. We also learn that she’s the younger sister, so her feelings are connected to that of someone who feels protected. ![]() A hero, perfect, strong and unbreakable, and kind and loyal. ![]() This is important as it shows that Sarai is someone that Amaya looked up to and still admires as a person. Your children were safe and I let them slip away.” When Amaya goes to see her sister’s grave she, according to those who interpret ASL, she says “Hello sister, you were my hero, perfect, strong and unbreakable. ![]() This got me to think about the relationship between the two women. So that started to get me thinking on how long has Gren been with Amaya, clearly they’re about roughly the same age,or he’s a bit younger, so he couldn’t have been interpreting for her when she was a child. Given their relationship we know that they have a close friendship, and given Callum and Ezren’s age’s we can assume that Queen Sarai had been living with her husband for a while before her passing. We know Amaya and Gren have been together for a while, but we don’t know how long he’s been her interpreter. ![]() So this was a thought that came to me the other day. Dragon Prince Theory: Gren was taught Sign language by the Queen to replace her when she got married. ![]()
